Harley Davidson FLSTC Heritage Softail Classic
This model was built for the "Byker-Buildoff" contest on the SPC forum in the "out of box" section. I decide at the start, once I had checked over the contents of the box, that the chrome plate parts would have the plastic colour in view when built. So I made the decision to strip all of the chrome plating and redo it with Alclad Chrome. Alclad's Polished Aluminium was also used on the main engine components too. The colour chosen for the bike was Tamiya's Metallic Blue which was similar to the blue on the model's box. The frame and swing arm was sprayed Gloss Black as standard. To make the bike look a little bit more special, I decided to spray the disc's and rear belt drive centres Metallic Blue to match the tanks and fenders. A few little extra details have been added which are various hose guides, battery terminal clamps and cables, scratch-built registration plate holder and registration plate. Even though this has been a long build, I have enjoyed it and there is a pleasure in working in the larger scales.
